This is a photograph done by a man named Man Ray in 1932
called Glass Tears. I was looking around
for photographs that spoke to me and then it clicked, I love the Dadaism art
era, so why not look at images from that specific era?
There are many that spoke to me because many of them are contorted and
meant to show the rawness of human beings.
This particular photo does just that; having just broken up with her
boyfriend, you can tell that she is very sad and crying “glass tears”. Although my boyfriend and I are very happy,
who hasn’t felt like their tears are magnified and permanent for all to
see? Also, I love that she is looking
away as to keep the onlooker of the photograph curious. Not only do I love the rawness and curiosity
of it all, but the amazing detail of her face, the tears, and the mascara,
which has tiny little beads in it. This
photo was simply breathtaking and I felt, as though I was in her mind, it’s
sad, but very captivating.
